Accenture Interview Experience #1

  • Name of the Candidate: Afrin
  • Level of Difficulty: Easy to Medium

Round 1: Cognitive and Technical Assessment

This is the first and foremost round which I have been called for. The duration of this round is 90 minutes. Candidates were expected to have logical and analytical thinking skills along with coding skills. This test consists of 90 questions that were needed to answer in given 90 minutes.

  • Questions related to English Ability, Critical Reasoning, and Problem Solving, Abstract Reasoning to Pseudocoding, Common Application and MS Office, Networking Security, and Cloud were asked in this assessment round
  • In order to proceed to the coding round, there is a cut-off mark that a candidate must reach in this round. The testing window will be in display state for 10 minutes, after that, the window will get closed, and immediately the result will get displayed on the screen

Round 2: The coding round consists of 2 questions that test the knowledge of the candidate in the fundamental concepts of the programming languages. In order to write the code, any platform among the C/ C++/ Java/ Python/ DOT Net can be chosen.

Round 3: Communication Assessment

The duration of this round is 20 minutes. The ultimate goal of this round is to assess the candidate’s reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills. There were a few sections that are to be attempted, which are the reading and repetition section, the storytelling section, and the open questions section.

Round 4: Interview Technical/ HR

Once I am done with the communication assessment round, right the next hour the results were released, thus I have booked the slot for the Interview.

  • On the interview day, I went to the Accenture office and waited for a few minutes in the lobby, and was called inside for the video conference interview
  • The interviewer started asking questions on me and asked about the project I did in my last year
  • Here are some of the technical questions that have been asked:

1. Write a function to reverse a linked list.

2. How prevalent is cycle stealing in modern systems?

3. What are the various On-Delete options in a DB table? Which is the default option?

4. Explain at least 3 basic concepts/ features of OOPS.

5. What are recursive functions? Give three examples.

6. What are the different types of database keys?

7. Provide insight into the e-commerce market in India.

8. What can you tell us about the latest android version M and how is it different from others?

9. What are the significance of semaphores? What are the different types of Semaphores?

10. Define encapsulation in C++. Explain “Abstraction and encapsulation are complementary concepts”.

11. Tell us about the projects you undertook in your summers.

Accenture Interview Experience #2

  • Job Role: Associate Software Engineer

Round 1: Cognitive and Technical Assessment

This is an online-based round and conducted in Accenture’s Hirepro Platform. There were 6 sections in this round and a total of 90 questions were asked. The total time given to complete this round is 90 minutes.

Round 2: Coding Ability

2 coding questions were asked in this round, and the time limit to complete this round is 45 minutes.

One of the coding questions that were asked is:

You are given a function, intMaxExponents(int a, int b) Find and return the number between ‘a’ and ‘b'(range inclusive on both ends) which has the maximum exponent of 2.

The algorithm to find the number with a maximum exponent of 2 between the given range is:

  • Loop between ‘a’ and ‘b’. Let the looping variable be ‘i’.
  • Find the exponent of 2 each ‘i’ and store the number with a maximum exponent of 2 so faqrd in a variable, let say ‘max’ to ‘i’ only if ‘i’ has more exponent of 2 than ‘max’.
  • Return ‘max’

Round 3: Communication Assessment Round

The main aim of this round is to test the candidate’s communication skills.

Round 4: Accenture Interview Round

On clearing all the rounds, the candidates were called for the last round which is the interview round. Whereas, in this round, I was asked for both the technical and the HR interview questions. 4. What is the usage of the pointer in C?

9. What is the newline escape sequence?

10. What are the various OOPs concepts in C++?
