On 28th September 2020, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has started the YSR Jala Kala scheme for the sake of farmers. The main aim of the YSR Jala Kala scheme is to help the farmers by providing the water supply to their fields through the free borewells. Generally, farmers will depend mostly on the rains. But due to the present environmental conditions, it is very hard for the farmers to use only the natural groundwater resources or rainwater. So the YSR Jala Kala scheme will help the farmers with sufficient water for their farming.

YSR Jala Kala Free Borewell Scheme Benefits

• In 4 years, approximately Rs.2340 crores will be granted to 3 lakh Ranchers under the YSR Jala Kala Scheme.
• There is a plan to arrange 2 lakh borewells for making the groundwater system strong to the upland branches.
• Farmer or group of Farmers can apply for the YSR Jala Kala scheme only who have 2.5 or 5 sections of land.
• At every phase, the ranchers will get the application status through the msgs.
  Under the YSR Jala Kala Scheme, 3 lakh farmers will be benefited, 5 lakh acres of land will get irrigation and 2 lakh free borewells will be set up.

YSR Jala Kala Scheme Eligibility

• To get the benefits of the YSR Jala Kala Scheme the farmer must consist of 2.5 to 5 acres of land or they have to get together their land with the closest land for free borewell.
• Only permanent residents of Andhra Pradesh with white ration cards are eligible for the YSR Jala Kala scheme.
• The applicants won’t get the benefits of the YSR Jala Kala Scheme if they already have a borewell in their field.
• The farmer can get the benefits of the YSR Jala Kala Scheme for only one time.
• The YSR Jala Kala Scheme does not apply to government employees.
  Small, Marginal, SC/ ST/ women farmers will be the priority for the benefits of the YSR Jala Kala Scheme.
