About Bharathiar University
The government of Tamilnadu has established the Bharathiar University in February 1982 under the provision of Bharathiar University Act. Bharathiar University is the State University located in the Coimbatore city of Tamilnadu state. University has received the recognition from University Grants Commission (UGC) New Delhi in May 1985 for grants. The university was named after the great national poet Subramania Bharathi, with the motto of “Educate to Elevate”. The Postgraduate Centre of the University of Madras, which was working in Coimbatore before 1982 was formed the core of the Bharathiar University.

The University named after the great national poet Subramania Bharathi is enshrined with the motto “Educate to Elevate”. In the University, every effort is harnessed to realize his dream of making educational institutions as a temple of learning. It is the aim of the University to participate in the task of inculcating necessary Knowledge, Skills and Creative Attitudes and values among the youth of the country to contribute more effectively towards establishing an equitable social and economic and secular ideal of our nation.
Bharathiar University Admissions
- Candidates must have minimum 55% aggregate marks at Under Graduate from any recognized university in the country.
- For the M.Ed. and B.Ed. degree is preferable, though BA with education-related fields may be accepted.
In the case of Biochemistry, candidates must have a minimum of 60% aggregate is required at the undergraduate level to apply. - For MBA admissions undergraduate degree from a recognized university.
- Candidate should have passed with minimum 55% aggregate in a Master’s level degree from any recognized university in the country.
- For Ph.D admissions, people must have minimum 55% aggregate in a Master’s level degree from any recognized university in the country.
