In a remarkable achievement, a Class 12 student from Gurgaon scored an outstanding 99.4% in the CBSE board exams. Originally from Mumbai, Sanaa Shaikh displayed a strong passion for humanities, even though she was initially enrolled in the commerce and economics stream at Universal High School for Class 10.

For her higher secondary education, Sanaa moved to Delhi Public School (DPS) in Gurgaon, where she completed both Class 11 and Class 12. Her excellent academic performance highlights her dedication and brilliance.

Sanaa, who loves writing and is deeply interested in psychology, has decided to pursue higher studies in this field. Supported by her parents, who work in the insurance sector at Bajaj Allianz, Sanaa’s journey is a testament to hard work and family support. Her exceptional results have also earned her a scholarship offer from the University of British Columbia, further enhancing her academic journey.

During an interview with India Today, Sanaa shared some effective study habits that helped her excel. “I treated my textbooks like a bible, reading everything thoroughly. I liked taking notes and often made 2-3 sets of notes throughout the year. Writing things down helped me understand better,” she explained.

Sanaa also faced challenges in managing her time but overcame them by setting regular alarms and waking up early, around 6 to 8 in the morning, to study. Her parents played a crucial role in helping her develop good time-management habits. She maintained a clear goal for covering chapters consistently, which helped her stay disciplined and achieve her study objectives.

As a humanities student, Sanaa studied subjects like History, Political Science, English, Psychology, and Geography. She learned the importance of giving concise answers, a skill taught by her teachers, who emphasized writing clear and succinct responses.

Sample papers were very important in my preparation,” Sanaa said. “They helped me understand the concepts and structure my responses better. I aimed to solve 1-2 sample papers each day, which was crucial for time management and regular practice.

Sanaa Shaikh’s story is an inspiration, demonstrating that with dedication, effective study habits, and strong family support, extraordinary academic success is possible.
