Flipkart On Campus Interview Experience for SDE Full Time

My Flipkart Interview experience went virtually. This time the students of CS and circuit branches were eligible for the Flipkart Interview. Whereas, the Flipkart Interview Process consists of 4 rounds, (1 coding round and the rest of all are interview rounds)

Round 1: Online Test

In this round, there were 3 questions that are asked and the time limit to complete answering the 3 questions in 90 minutes. The test has happened in the HackerRank platform.

1. A question similar to the coin change problem

2. Maximum level sum in a binary tree

3. A state consists of n cities. All roads in the city are bidirectional. We have to find the length of the shortest route between two given cities, with a twist that you can eliminate the distance between any “k” connected cities (eliminate a distance means you can make the distance between two connected cities as 0, you can do this “k” times)

Out of 250 students, 12 got selected for the nest rounds.

Round 2: Technical Round 1

In this round, I was asked to answer 2 DSA questions. This round has lasted for 45 minutes. Here are the questions:

1. Largest sum contiguous subarray

2. Maximum sum in the array such that no adjacent elements are selected.

Round 3: Technical Round 2

Again 2 questions related to the DSA were asked in this round.

1. Two arrays A and B are given and all elements in both the array are the same except one. We have to find the missing element

2. Celebrity Problem (A celebrity is a person who is known to all but does not know anyone at a party. If you go to a party of N people, find if there is a celebrity at the party or not.
A square NxN matrix M[][] is used to represent people at the party such that if an element of row i and column j  is set to 1 it means ith person knows jth person. Here M[i][i] will always be 0.)

Round 4: Managerial Round

This round has started with the basic question. Then the interviewer has asked me the question based on my resume. Questions ranged from my introduction to projects, internships, etc. He asked me to talk in detail about the internships and then a few HR questions based on my strengths and weaknesses, etc.,

1. Introduce yourself.

2. What are your strengths and weaknesses?

3. How will you contribute to Flipkart?

4. What makes you interested in this job?

5. What is the motivating factor for you at work?

7. What qualities would you look for, if you were recruiting someone for this position?

8. Do you like to work in a team or on your own?

9. Tell us about your project.

Flipkart Off Campus Interview Experience for SDE

The whole Flipkart interview process took one day. There were 4 openings and 20 candidates were shortlisted for the same. The interview process includes 4 rounds namely:

1. Machine coding Round
2. Review Round
3. Problem Solving & Algorithm Round
4. Hiring Manager round

Round 1: Machine coding Round

All the candidates were divided into 2 batches, and I was in the second batch. for this round, the time allotted for the second batch is from 10:30 AM to 12:15 PM. The technical member gave me the problem and have cleared the doubts that I have. Once it is 12:15, a Google form link was shared, where we had to upload the code and our resume.

Round 2: Machine Coding Review Round

Once I complete the Machine coding Round, all the candidates are individually called by the panel and have asked the questions related to the code generated in the previous round. My code was based on optimization (time and space both) and Abstraction. This round lasted 45 minutes. I was also asked about the questions on inbuilt sort, method of quick-sort, merge-sort, and their complexities. After completion of this round, I got a call from HR that I have cleared this round, and my Problem Solving & Algorithm Round was scheduled at 2:15 PM.

Round 3: Problem Solving & Algorithm Round

There were 2-panel members in this round, and they have shared a google doc link. In this round, I was asked to answer for three questions. Here I am mentioning the questions

1. Find a number of groups (contiguous) that sum to k

2. Find if the given graph is Bipartite or not

3. Find k most frequent numbers from an array

Round 4: Hiring Manager round

Once I am done with the Problem Solving & Algorithm Round, I was called for the last round which is the managerial round. Firstly, the interviewer asked me to tell about myself. Then, later on, he started asking the behavioral questions which you can find them below.

3. Most challenging work done in past?

4. Why should we hire you?

5. What do you know about us?

6. Can you perform under pressure?
