Food Safety Mitra Scheme @ fssai.gov.in | Registration Procedure, Eligibility, Benefits: The candidate certified under the FSSAI can be called as the Food Safety Mitra or Food Mitra. The Food Safety Mitra Scheme is launched by the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan Garu on 16th October 2019 on the Global Fertilizer day with the slogan of ‘Eat Right Jacket’, and ‘Eat Right Jhola’.

The main motto under the Food Safety Mitra Scheme is to motivate and teach the Food Business Operators to maintain food hygiene. The candidates will be specially trained and certified under the FSSAI which has also the information for food business operators on how to grow their business and maintaining quality and hygiene.

Food Safety Mitra Scheme types

There are three types of Food Safety Mitra. The following are the types.

  • Digital Mitra
  • Trainer Mitra
  • Hygiene Mitra

Food Safety Mitra Scheme Eligibility Criteria

For Digital Mitra:

  • The age of the candidate must be in between 21 years to 60 years of age.
  • The applicant should complete a Bachelor’s Degree from any of the recognized university.
  • Aspirants must be known with the information on the Computer, the Internet, etc.

For Trainer Mitra:

  • The Candidate should have the minimum graduation in the science/ food technology/ food science/chemistry/ biology/ microbiology or any related courses.
  • If the aspirant completed the graduate in any other stream, then a minimum of 5 years of the food industry related experience is required.
  • For the basic level, either 3 years of the training experience on hygiene and food safety is required including FSMS.
  • An aspirant should be available for the training at least for the 20 days in a year.
  • Candidate must be a good communicator and with motivational skills.

For Hygienic Mitra:

  • The age of the candidate should be in between the 21 to 60 years to apply for the Hygiene Mitra.
  • The aspirant must be any degree graduate in the Catering Technology/ Hotel Management/ Food/ Dairy/ Fisheries/ Technology/ Microbiology from the recognized universities.
  • The candidate must be known with the hygiene and the quality of the food aspects.
