Post Matric Scholarship Scheme for SC students

Financial Assistance For Higher Competitive Entrance Examinations to SC/ BC Candidates through Private Institutions

Eligibility

  • The Candidate must be a resident or domicile of Haryana.
  • Candidate should belong to either Scheduled Caste or Backward Classes.
  • Candidate’s Annual Income of the parents should not exceed Rs 2.50 lacs.
  • Candidates should possess all the qualifications required for the examination.
  • Candidates who are trying for more than two chances for any competitive examination will not be permitted.

  • The application should be duly filled and submitted as prescribed in Advt. whenever it is issued.

Babu Jagjivan Ram Chhattrawas Yojna

Earlier scheme of hostels for SC boys and girls from the central Government is modified and renamed as “Babu Jagjivan Ram Chhatravas Yojna.

Objective

The scheme “Babu Jagjivan Ram Chhattrawas Yojna” is one of the schemes to encourage students to belong to scheduled castes. By the construction of hostels to the Students can make a possibility of getting a quality education for SC/ST.
The modifications included in the revised scheme are-

(a) For the construction of girls hostel, 100% central assistance to States/ UTs and Central Universities and 90% to deemed universities and private bodies.

(b) period of construction of hostels has been decreased from existing 5 years to 2 years.

Scheme of Hostels For Other Backward Classes (OBC) Boys And Girls

Objective

Under the Central/ State/ UT Administration Lists of Backward Classes, which are called Other Backward Classes (OBCs), to provide better educational opportunities to students belonging to socially and educationally backward.

Scope

Central assistance for the construction of girls’/ boys’ hostels up to 100 seats, will be given to Every institution. The hostels must have built space for residential facilities for students, hostels warden, chowkidar, and provision of boundary wall surrounding the campus. The Construction of such complexes is based on the State/ UT PWD schedule of rates and submitted to the Ministry of Social justice and Empowerment.

The organizations eligible for assistance shall be as follows:-

  • The Institutions under the State Governments and UTs or set up by the Government as autonomous under the Registration of Societies Act, of 1860.
  • The Educational and other institutions are owned and controlled by either the Central Government/ State Government/ UTs.

Procedure for Grant-In-Aid & Funding Pattern

  • Under this Scheme, Central assistance of 50% is given for construction. By the concerned State Government, remaining 50% of the construction cost will have to be bared. The budget should be submitted for that construction.
  • Under this scheme, the Central Government provides 100% assistance to the Central Government Institutions and UTs proposing to set up hostels.

Pre-Matric Scholarship Scheme

For the Welfare of Minorities, the Prime Minister announced in June 2006 a pre-matric scholarship scheme for minority communities for meritorious students.

Objective

To encourage parents from minority communities to send their children to school, and to support their children to complete school education. And finally, bringing the potential to lead to the socio-economic conditions of the minority communities.

Benefits

  • Hostellers: Hostellers of Class III to X – Rs.700/- per month for 10 months
  • Day scholars: Day scholars of Class I to X – Rs.110/- per month for 10 months
  • Adhoc grant: Day scholars Adhoc grant of Rs.750/- per student per annumHostellers ad hoc grant of Rs. 1000/- per student per annum.
  • Disabilities: Additional Provisions for Students amongst Target Groups with Disabilities.

Mode of Applying

The application forms will be given by the Department of the State Government/ Union Territory Administration and before the last date itself, the forms should be filled and submitted.

Central Sector Scheme of Up-gradation Of Merit Of SC/ ST Students

Coverage

Under this scheme, 1045 students are covered. The coaching will be given for 4 years which starts at class IX and continues up to class XII. If a State has 5 awards, for each Class IX, Class X, Class XI, and Class XII total of 20 awards. On the basis of the population of the SC/ ST communities, The State Government may use its discretion to decide the allotments of seats.

Selection of Teachers

Faculty of the schools selected under the scheme should be ensured that not less than 10-12 hours a week are devoted to the coaching of the students.

Preference for Girls students

In allotment, 30% for SC/ST students, 3% for disabled SC/ST. Students with disabilities are also eligible for more assistance.

Financial Implications

INR 15,000 per student per year will be given as:

  • INR 8000/- under fees
  • Boarding & lodging charges INR 5,000 (INR500 per month for 10 months)
  • Pocket Money INR 1,000 (INR 100 for 10 months)
  • Books and stationery INR 2,000.
  • For honorarium to the principal, experts, and other incidental charges per year INR 7,000.

Annusuchit Jati Chhattra Ucch Shiksha Protsahan Yojna

Eligibility

  • The Domicile of the Applicants should be Haryana.
  • Candidates should belong to scheduled castes only.
  • Aspirants’ Annual Income must be less than 2.40 lacs.
  • Candidates should not get benefit from any other scheme only.
