The Written Exam Pattern for the HP Administrative Services, Tehsildar, Block Development Officer, Treasury Officer posts are given here in brief. Written Test has Preliminary and Mains Examination. Prelims will be conducted for 400 Marks, and the time duration is 2 Hours for each paper. Paper I has 100 Questions from General Studies and Paper II has 100 Questions from Aptitude. Whereas, Mains Exam will be conducted for 900 Marks. There will be 8 Papers in the Mains Exam and the time duration is 3 hours for each paper. The Subjects are English, Hindi, Essay, General Studies – I, General Studies – II, General Studies – III, Optional Subject (Paper-I), and Optional Subject (Paper-II). And, there is negative marking for wrong answers in the objective type question papers.

NOTE:
- There will be a penalty (Negative Marking)for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the objective-type question papers.
- English (Paper-I) and Hindi (Paper-II) are of qualifying nature.
- There will be a choice of optional subjects (Paper VII, VIII) for the candidates.
Personality Test/ Interview
- Interview/ Personality Test will be conducted for 150 Marks. All the candidates who obtained equal minimum qualifying marks shall be called for Interview/ Personality Test.
- The marks obtained by the candidates in the main examination (written part as well as interview/ personality test) shall determine their final ranking.
- Candidates will be allotted various services/posts keeping in view their ranks in the examination and the preference expressed by them for the various services and posts
