IBPS PO Syllabus 2024

There will be a total of 100 questions asked in the IBPS PO Prelims Examination for 100 marks and the time limit is 60 Minutes. In the IBPS PO Mains Exam 2024, there will be 155 questions asked for 200 marks and the time limit is 180 minutes (3 hours) and English Language (Letter Writing & Essay) for 25 marks and the time limit is 30 minutes. There is a negative marking, where 0.25 marks (or) one-fourth will be deducted as a penalty for a wrong answer. This negative marking applies to both prelims and main exams.

Note:  Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS. An adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for the Online Main Examination.

Note Regarding Negative Marking:

• Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Online Preliminary and Online Main Examination) There will be a penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as a penalty to arrive at a corrected score.
• If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.

IBPS PO Interview Process

Candidates who have been shortlisted in the Online Main examination for CRP- PO/MTXIII will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Participating Banks and coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS. Interviews will be conducted at select centers. Interviews will be conducted at select centers. The total marks allotted for the Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in the interview will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWBD candidates). The weightage (ratio) of the Online Main Exam and interview will be 80:20 respectively.
