About The Indian Institute of Information Technology – IIIT Kalyani

The Indian Institute of Information Technology Kalyani commonly known as IIT Kalyani has been set up with an objective to supply best-in-class human resources in IT and to harness the multidimensional aspects of IT in various domains. The university strives to evolve into a world-class academic establishment with the highest quality of education and research facilities and produce industry ready IT graduates to satisfy the industry demands. The institute can act as a catalyst in fostering an innovative entrepreneur-focused ecosystem to ensure that new products, solutions, and IPs are created within the State taking advantage of the intellectual capital of the State.

The Indian Institute of Information Technology Kalyani has been set up at Kalyani, West Bengal by Govt. of India (MHRD), Government of West Bengal and industry partners on a Not-for-profit Public non-public Partnership (N-PPP) basis, being funded in the ratio of 50:35:15 severally by the on top of 3 parties. to boot, the govt. of West Bengal has Lent support to the institute by granting fifty acres of land for fixing the field. The industry partners of IIIT Kalyani are Coal Asian country Ltd. and Rolta Foundation for this. The institute is run by the Board of Governors of IIIT Kalyani whose members embrace the representatives of the government of India (MHRD), Government of West Bengal, trade partners and eminent people from academia, trade and civil society.

Presently, the institute is being mentored by the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur with a faculty member. Partha P. Chakrabarti, Director, IIT Kharagpur as Mentor Director and professor. Anupam Basu, Professor, Department of computer science and Engineering, IIT Kharagpur as govt Director/Professor-In-Charge. IIIT Kalyani has been attributed to the standing of the Institute of National Importance (INI) by the cabinet on March 2017. While construction has been started within the land provided, the institute is presently running from the temporary campus at Webel IT Park, Kalyani.

IIIT Kalyani Admissions

• Candidates who are seeking admissions to B.Tech. course must have passed the 10+2 examination with PCM as subjects.
• Candidates need to qualify for a national-level JEE entrance exam to be eligible for admission to the course.
• The final seat-allotment is conducted by Joint Seat Allocation Authority through its JoSAA Counselling.
• Ph.D. admissions are granted to the candidates based on the written test and interview conducted by the IIIT Kalyani.
• No management quota seats are available at the time of admissions.
