Indian Navy gets first-ever privately made indigenized fuze of Anti-Submarine Warfare rocket: A private Indian industry has manufactured the indigenized fuze YDB-60 for underwater rocket RGB 60, which was recently received by the Indian Navy. To promote self-reliance in armament and ammunition, Indian Navy has received an indigenous YDB-60 fuze for underwater Anti Submarine Warfare (ASW) Rocket RGB-60 from a private manufacturer, M/s Economic Explosives Limited (EEL), Nagpur. This marks the first instance of the Indian Navy placing a supply order for an underwater ammunition fuze with an Indian private industry, which will be used on major warships.

During a recent event, Shri Satyanarayan Nuwal, the CMD of M/s EEL, Nagpur, handed over the first consignment of the indigenized fuze to Vice Admiral SN Ghormade, the Vice Chief of Naval Staff (VCNS). VAdm Ghormade appreciated the growing participation of private industries in the manufacture of armament and ammunition, citing it as a major boost to the self-reliance of the Armed Forces. He further added that the development and manufacture of such a fuze by a private industry for the first time, using simulated dynamic trial facilities, is a significant accomplishment for the country.
The Indian Navy’s Directorate General of Naval Armament (DGONA) and Directorate General of Naval Armament Inspection (DGNAI) have provided technical assistance to the manufacturer to create a robust ecosystem for the production of ammunition and fuze in India, in line with the AatmaNirbharta initiative.
