Infosys Interview Experience for Freshers

Round 1: Online coding Test
There were asked 3 coding questions each of 100 marks and the time given to complete answering the questions is 3 hours. As the test for the DSE role and Power Programmer role is the same, on solving 2 or more questions then you will be qualified for the Power Programmer role. If you solve only one question, you will be shortlisted for DSE Role. I was asked questions on Matrix, String manipulation, and Graph. I was able to solve one question completely and another partially thus I am shortlisted for DSE Role.
Round 2: Technical Interview
The first and foremost question that is asked by the HR Interviewer is, tell me about yourself. As I mentioned my background, technical skills, projects, and internships which I have done. Later, I have mentioned my career goals. Then, he went on asking the below questions.
1. Why do you prefer Java over other programming languages? What are its advantages?
2. Explain JDK, JRE, and JVM.
3. What are some of the models of SDLC?
4. Explain the waterfall model? What are the steps involved in the waterfall model?
5. How is the Agile model different from the Waterfall model?
6. What is a final keyword? What are the final methods?
7. What is super used for in Java?
8. What are constructors? What is its use?
9. Difference between String and String Buffer.
10. Which is the model that is preferred in the market these days and why?
11. What are your career aspirations?
12. What are Wrapper classes?
13. How many types of constructors are there in Java?
14. What do you know about the software development life cycle?
15. Sort an array of integers taking input from the user using any sorting algorithm within 3 minutes. (I had to write the code in the chatbox itself and within 3 minutes so I chose to write a simple bubble sort)
16. Do you have any other offers in hand? If yes, which companies?
17. Why would you join Infosys over X company?
Infosys Interview Experience #2

Round 1: Online Test
Round 1 is purely related to coding. In which they have I am subjected to answer three questions.
1. Related to finding maximum XOR subset
2. Sliding Window Algorithm problem
I am not sure what was asked as the third question. Most of the candidates have got the question on the concepts like DP, bitwise operators, trees, greedy algorithms, etc. As I have answered 2 questions, I have been shortlisted for the power programmer interview.
Round 2: Technical Interview
On clearing the first round, I have called for Technical Interview. The interviewer has asked me to write coding, but for some of the programs given, I approach of solving which is also fine. The questions that I have been asked in this round are:
1. Tell me something about yourself.
2. Coding question related to “number of islands” problem.
3. Difference between TCP/ IP model and OSI model in computer networks.
4. Difference between TCP and UDP protocol and also which is the better one.
5. Explain method overloading and method overriding in detail with examples.
6. Since I mentioned that I code in Python so he asked the difference between list and tuple in Python along with their time complexities.
7. Why do we need normalization in DBMS? What are its advantages and disadvantages?
What is virtual memory?
8. Explain block size and paging in the operating system.
9. Brief discussion of projects and internships that I mentioned.
