Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology (KIDWAI) is a cancer care hospital in Banglore, Karnataka state, India. It is an autonomous institution of the Government of Karnataka and a Regional Cancer Centre (RCC) funded by the Government of India. This institute was founded on 26 June 1973. Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology is a recognized exclusive tertiary cancer care center cum academic and research institutes. Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology was accorded RCC status in November 1980 by the Government of India. It is a member of UGC and recognized by WHO. The Indian Council of Medical Research has recognized this referral Institution as a research organization. Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology (KIDWAI) was named after Rafi Ahmed Kidwai, who was a politician, an Indian Independence activist, a socialist and the Governor of Bombay in earlier.
