Madhya Pradesh Government Passes New Liquor Policy: The State Cabinet of Madhya Pradesh recently passed a New Liquor policy. Whereas, the New Liquor Policy was launched after the BJP leader Uma Bharati’s demand. As per the policy, the drinking alcohol areas will be closed. These are some areas that are attached to bars. And the new policy is called the “NEW EXCISE POLICY”. In Madhya Pradesh, within 50 meters of educational institutions, girls’ hostels, and religious places, there are many Liquor shops. Whereas, now the distance has been increased from 50 Metres to 100 Metres. This policy will also make strict actions against drunk and driving cases.

“Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been working to discourage drinking liquor so no new shop has been opened in the state since 2010. On the contrary, shops were closed,” Mishra said. He also said, During the Narmada Seva Yatra, 64 shops were closed in the state. “All ahatas and shop bars are being shut down in the state. And only liquor will be sold at the shops and places of drinking will not be allowed.
