NIACL AO Mains Exam Pattern for Objective, Descriptive Tests
The NIACL AO Mains Examination will consist of two parts. The first part comprises four sections with Objective Type Questions, collectively worth 200 marks. Negative Marking
Penalty for Wrong Answers (Applicable to both – Preliminary and Main examination) There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. Each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate, one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate, there will be no penalty for that question.
Descriptive Test
The Descriptive Test will be conducted online and aims to evaluate candidates’ English language proficiency through two components: Letter Writing (worth 10 marks) and Essay Writing (worth 20 marks). Candidates will be allotted 30 minutes to complete the entire Descriptive Test. Within this time frame, they are required to demonstrate their writing skills by crafting a well-structured and coherent letter and essay.
