PM Kisan Samman Nidhi | Benefits, Eligibility & Application Process: PM Kisan Samman Nidhi is a Central Sector scheme funded entirely (100%) by Government of India. The money will be transferred directly to the beneficiaries‘ bank accounts. Government of India has started PM Kisan eKYC for the 20th Installment of 2025. It is mandatory for all farmers to do the eKYC to receive the 20th installment of scheme transfer directly to their bank account. All eligible farmers can complete their eKYC either by visiting the official PM-Kisan website using OTP-based verification or by heading to their nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) for assistance.

After the successful distribution of the 19th installment, the Government of India is now gearing up to release the 20th installment of the PM-Kisan scheme. Under this upcoming phase, a financial aid of ₹2,000 will be credited directly to the bank accounts of qualifying farmers through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.

It’s important to note that only those farmers who have completed their eKYC process will be eligible to receive this installment. In the previous round, nearly 9.8 crore farmers across the country received financial support under the scheme.

The primary purpose of undertaking PM Kisan eKYC is to ensure that benefits are received in the 20th installment only to farmers who meet the full eligibility criteria. eKYC is very important so farmers will receive financial support in their Aadhar-seated bank account, without involving any intermediaries (rest assured that it would eliminate graft). The more farmers fail to complete their eKYC by this prescribed time the greater proportion of financial aid under the 20th installment will become ambivalent.

• Under the scheme, the family of all landholder farmers are entitled to the benefits of the scheme.
• Family of landholder farmers is explained under the scheme guidelines as a family consisting of a husband, wife and minor children, who hold cultivable land per the land record of the state or UT in which they are attached to the respective farmer’s household and they are farmers by occupation.
• The beneficiaries are identified by the existing land ownership system. Citizens must be permanent residents of India.
  The farmers or any family members of the farming family must hold cultivable land.
• Small and medium-sized farms owned and worked by Indian farmers are eligible to apply for the funds.

PM Kisan Yojna  – Financial Benefits

Under the PM-Kisan scheme, eligible farming families receive an annual financial benefit of ₹6,000, which is provided in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each, distributed once every four months.

Application Process for PM Kisan Scheme

Farmers who meet the eligibility criteria can apply for the PM-Kisan Yojana through any of the following methods:

Through Local Officials:
Farmers can apply by submitting their details to local authorities such as revenue officers, village Patwaris, or other authorized government representatives.

Via Common Service Centres (CSCs):
Eligible farmers can also visit their nearest CSC to get registered under the scheme. A nominal fee may be charged for this service.

Online Self-Registration:
Farmers comfortable with online platforms can register themselves by visiting the official PM-Kisan portal and selecting the ‘New Farmer Registration’ option.

Required Information for Registration

To successfully register under the scheme, farmers will need to provide the following details:

• Full Name

• Age

• Gender

• Mobile Number

• Caste Category (SC/ST/Others)

• Aadhaar Number

  • (If Aadhaar hasn’t been issued, then Aadhaar Enrollment Number plus any valid ID such as Voter ID, Driving License, NREGA Job Card, or any government-issued ID)

• Bank Account Number (for DBT transfers)

How To Register for PM Kisan eKYC (OTP Based)?

• Go to the PM-Kisan official portal, pmkisan.gov.in.
• On the homepage, look for the “eKYC” option and click on it.
• A new page will open. Enter your Aadhaar number, then click on the “Search” button.
• An OTP will be sent to your mobile number linked with Aadhaar.
• Enter the OTP in the required field and click on “Submit” to complete the eKYC process.

How To Register for PM Kisan eKYC at a CSC Centre (Biometric Method)?

• All eligible farmers are advised to go to the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) in their area.
• Once you reach the centre, speak to the CSC operator and let them know you want to complete your PM-Kisan eKYC.
• The CSC official will begin the biometric authentication process. You will be asked to provide your Aadhaar card and Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
• After successfully verifying your fingerprint or iris scan, the official will complete your eKYC on your behalf.
