KSCSTE Prathibha Scholarship Programme – Objective

Prathibha Scholarship Programme is aimed at motivating bright Students to higher studies in Science by awarding Scholarships. Prathibha Scholars are also provided opportunities to attend Science Orientation Programmes and interact with pioneers in Science through the SPEED scheme. Prathibha Scholarship is a scheme for identifying “Students with Talent and Aptitude for Research in Science (STARS)” 

This aims to identify and nurture students who have qualified Higher Secondary Board Examination meritoriously from Kerala to avail scholarship for pursuing B.Sc./ Integrated M.Sc. courses in Basic/ Natural Sciences anywhere in India.

Prathibha Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

• Applicant should be of Kerala origin.
• Applicant should have qualified Higher Secondary Examination from Kerala.
• Applicant should have qualified Higher Secondary Board Examination with minimum 90% marks or equivalent grade for all subjects put together and minimum 90% marks or equivalent grade for all Science subjects put together. (For SC/ ST reservation category, the eligibility is stipulated to minimum marks of 80% or equivalent grade for all subjects in total and minimum 80% marks or equivalent grade for all Science subjects in total).
• Applicant should have secured admission for 3 years B.Sc./ 5-year Integrated M.Sc./ 5-year Integrated BS-MS course in Basic or Natural Science (23 subjects enlisted in the ‘guidelines’) in any of the Institutions or Universities in India.

Prathibha Scholarship – Amount

Aspirants who will be applying for the Kerala KSCSTE Prathibha Scholarship Scheme will be eligible for the following Prathibha Scholarship Amount. Annual scholarship @ Rs. 12,000/-, Rs. 18,000/-, Rs. 24,000/- respectively for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd years at U.G. level and @ Rs. 40,000/- & Rs. 60,000/- respectively for 1st and 2nd years at P.G. level.

KSCSTE Prathibha Scholarship Selection Process

After the submission of online applications for the Prathibha Scholarship Programme, officials will do preliminary scrutiny of applications and preparation of Provisional Rank List (Main list & Waiting list) based on the following guidelines.

• The ranking is made based on the aggregate marks secured in Higher Secondary Board Examination for all Science subjects.
• Eligible applicants are grouped under the three Broad Subject Groups viz., Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Life Sciences based on the subject chosen as ‘Main’ for the Degree Course.
• Applicants under each Subject Group are ranked separately with a weightage of 30% for Mathematical Sciences, 40% for Physical Sciences, and 30% for Life Sciences. 10% of the total seats are set apart for SC/ST students.
• Tie if any is resolved by prioritizing the marks obtained for science subjects in the following order.
  • Mathematical Sciences Group- HSE marks in the order of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Computer Science, Overall marks
  • Physical Sciences Group- HSE marks in the order of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology/ Computer Science, Overall marks
  • Life Sciences Group- HSE marks in the order of Biology/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Overall marks.
• Submission of relevant documents online by students shortlisted in the Provisional Selection List (PRL).
• Verification of documents and preparation of Final Rank List (FRL) as per approved guidelines.

Steps to Apply For the KSCSTE Prathibha Scholarship Programme

• Firstly, you have to open the official website @ kscste.kerala.gov.in
• On the menu tab, click on the Schemes & Programmes -> Student Programmes -> Prathibha Scholarship Programme.
• And then details about the Prathibha Scholarship Programme will be shown.
• Now, click on the Notification & Guidelines to know your eligibility.
• Next, if you are eligible, click on the “Register Here” option.
• Provide the necessary details like (Name/ DOB/ Mobile No/ Email ID/ HSE Roll No) and click on the Register button.
• At last, after successful registration, an application number will be generated.
• Use this number for login and submit the application for the scholarship.
