PRL Aruna Lal Scholarships Scheme

National Science Day will be celebrated at Physical Research Laboratory. On this occasion, Aruna Lal Scholarships and other prizes will be awarded to meritorious students selected based on a screening test at designated test centers, followed by competitive events and personal interviews at PRL. The Aruna Lal scholarship has been instituted by the Late Prof. Devendra Lal, former Director of the Physical Research Laboratory. Aruna Lal Scholarships will be awarded to five meritorious students selected based on a screening test, followed by a personal interview by a panel of scientists. The Aruna Lal foundation was established by Late Prof. Devendra Lal in memory of his wife Mrs. Aruna Lal.

The fellowship is given to encourage high school children to pursue studies in Science and related subjects.

Application and Eligibility For PRL Aruna Lal Scholarships

• The Principal of higher secondary schools of Gujarat has to nominate students of 11th standard (Belongs To Science stream).
  Then, nominate your student(s).
• The schools having multiple mediums (English/ Gujarati/ Hindi) have the facility to register each medium separately. And In that, each medium can nominate only up to to seven students.

Screening Test for PRL Aruna Lal Scholarships

A screening test will be conducted with Nominated Students. The screening test will be held in offline mode and online mode. The Offline test (i.e. OMR based exam) will be held at 16 different centers across Gujarat. And school principal has to opt for either the offline or online mode of the exam during school registration itself. The school opting for the online exam must have terms and conditions. Also, have to facilitate the exam in their school for their students.

Selection Procedure Of PRL Aruna Lal Scholarships

• Firstly, the screening will be conducted for the Nominated Students. In that, offline will be done by OMR-based. And If Offline, the Principal of that school has opted for it during the registration itself.
• From Merit List, the Top 150 students will be selected. for a subsequent round of competitive events to be held at the Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad.
• This Screening Test will be conducted by a group of Scientists.
