• Document Controller acts as SPC for Multifunctional team for drawing/ Document release.
• MDL [Master Document List] is prepared by the Doc controller & maintained in the EDMS tool.
• Follow up with the Engineering team on the due date of the document submission in advance, and keep them notified of the due deliverable.
• MDL is updated periodically on the document submission status. In case of any delay in submission, dates are revised and notified to the customer.
• Follows up with the customer on the document approval for the submitted document, in case of any comments from the customer, the Document controller shares the comments with the
• The engineering team and get the document updated and resubmitted.
• Not all documents need customer approval, only critical documents/ drawings are submitted for customer approval. Which is specified on MDL at the start of projects.
• The document controller also reviews the document authentically concerning the
• Document Management system specification.
• EDMS tool is used for all communication and document storage.
• Reports are extracted from EDMS every week and shared with all key stakeholders of the project.
• Vendor Documents are handled outside the EDMS system including the inbound and outbound communication.
• Vendor documents are stored in the EDMS folder by Document folder and communicated to the Engineering team.
• The Document Controller is also responsible for the Project Folder management and governs the access control.
• Also, perform an Audit, and ensure only the required stakeholders have access to the folder and documents stored are in line with the revision of documents specified in the MDL.
