The Sports Authority of India (SAI) is the top national sports body of India. First, it was formed in 1961 and established in 1984 by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of Government of India for the development of sport in India. It is also entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining and utilizing, on the behalf of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.
