SAP On Campus Interview Experience
Status – Selected
A few days back an On Campus recruitment for SAP has taken place. It’s full employment and candidates who got selected were also offered an internship position. Overall eligible students from CSE, ECE, IT were allowed to appear for Online Test.
Following is the recruitment process that is followed by the SAP Hiring team.
- Online Test
- Technical Interview 1
- Technical Interview 2
- Managerial Round
- HR Interview
Round 1: Online Test
The Online round was conducted on the Mettl platform. The overall time limit is 70 mins, and the total number of questions asked is 35 questions (15 – Technical, 18 – Quantitative and reasoning, 2 – Coding).
Below are the coding questions that were asked to me in my online test round.
- Given three numbers, you need to determine whether they are in AP or GP. You had to just complete two functions is_AP(int a, int b, int c) and is_GP(int a, int b, int c).
- You have to read a string that is in the format of a JSON file. The objective was to find the depth of the innermost element.
After the completion of the Online Test overall, 23 students were shortlisted and are allowed to appear for the next SAP Interview Process.
Round 2 – Technical Interview 1
This is face to face round with 1 interviewer. The interviewer already has my Resume with him, he just went through and asked random questions about my education & project details. For me, the interview went over nearly 1hr 30 mins, and here are the questions that were asked to me in my SAP Technical Interview round.
1. Tell me about your college.
2. Can we have a private constructor.
3. What is the benefit of a private constructor?
4. Asked me questions from JAVA
5. What is an access specifier?
6. He asked to implement a singleton class.
7. Which is more restrictive – protected or default?
8. What is the accessibility of private modifiers?
9. What is the use then if you can’t instantiate?
10. Then project related discussion lasted for around 10 minutes.
11. Tell me what you don’t like about your college.
12. Can you guess why inner class can be static but not outer class ?
13. Given Two classes A and B. A has a method m1() and B has a method m2() . Method m1() is called within method m2(). Now m1() throws an exception. Write a code to handle exception thrown by calling m1() in m2() and throw a new relevant exception from m2().
14. can a static method be overloaded?
15. can a static method be overriden?
16. Graphically illustrate Merge Sort and Quick sort and differentiate.
17. Loop detection and correction in a linked list.
18. what is the factory method? Write an example and illustrate.
19. Differentiate runtime and compile time polymorphism with example.
20. Differentiate abstract class and interface.
21. What is polymorphism?
22. What is macro in C?
23. How do macro work and in what phase is it handled by the compiler?
24. What is the difference between calloc and malloc?
25. What is normalization and all its forms.?
26. Given a string, print the character and its frequency in the order of its occurrence.
Round 3 – Technical Interview 2
This is also a face-to-face round, but here there are 2 interviewers. While you are answering questions make sure you make eye contact with both the members even if the question came only from one of them.

1. What is immutability?
2. How would you implement immutability?
3. Checked vs unchecked Exception
4. Write a formula to find the angle between the hands of a clock.
5. Why at all do we need abstract and interface?
6. Abstract vs Interface
7. Can we leave a method unimplemented if we extend an abstract class?
8. Is Throwable class or interface?
9. Do You have any questions for us?
At last, the results for this round are announced and we got to know that only 6 candidates were shortlisted in this round.
Round 4 – Managerial
In this round, the interviewer asked me questions related to both technical and general (Puzzles). Usually, in this round, the interviewer will test the candidates about their stress level and analyze their character/ personality. So, don’t feel nervous and ultimately try to give your best.
Here are some of the managerial questions that were asked to me.
1. Introduce Yourself.
2. How was your day?
3. How was the recruitment process?
4. Why SAP?
5. What did you know about sap earlier and what you got to knew today?
6. What do you do in the evening?
7. What do you do when you are sad?
8. What is Big Data and what is its application?
9. What is a cloud?
10. What is locality of reference?
11. What would you do if you are not selected?
12. What would you say if I say that we need only one candidate?
13. Rate yourself on a scale of 10 in programming.
14. If you have to become an animal – what would you be?
15. Naming another candidate – he said Mr. “X” has done very well in the interview, where you beat him?
16. Puzzle: there are 100 people in a circle. 1 is given a gun. 1 kills 2, 3 kills 4, 5 kills 6 .. and so on. At last, which person survives?
At last, they told us only 3 people were shortlisted for the final round and I was one of them.
Round 5 – HR Interview
