Sidho Kanho Birsha University (SKBU) was Established in the year 2010 in Purulia, West Bengal, India. Sidho Kanho Birsha University has begun as an academic institution for higher education when it is created as State University in 2010. The University has started its post-graduation classes in 2011-2012 with 12 Departments. Sidho Kanho Birsha University will promote higher education with special importance on the study of native languages as well as culture and rural development.

Sidho Kanho Birsha University Admissions
- PG Admissions are offered to the students based on the merit list in the exam followed by the Interview which was conducted by the university.
- GATE, SET or UGC NET qualified students are directly called for Interview.
- For B.Ed and M.A admissions allotments are based on the entrance examination marks. The student must hold a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50%.
- If the students holding with Master’s degree and they must have a minimum of 55%.
- Ph.D. admissions, aspirants must have the Master’s degree with a minimum of 55% and students who have cleared the NET / SET / GATE or the equivalent examination is exempted from the entrance examination.
