Siemens Interview Experience for Freshers

Candidate #1 – Siemens Latest Interview Experience (On Campus)

Job Role: Graduate Engineer Trainee

Status – Selected

Difficulty Level – Hard

Recently in the last month of September Siemens has visited our campus to hire eligible candidates for the Graduate Engineer Trainee position. Initially, they have given the PPT and briefly explained about their company and the recruitment process they will be following on that day.

Below is the Siemens Interview Process that officials have followed.

  •  Online MCQ round
  • Technical Round 1
  • Technical Round 2
  • HR Round

Round 1 – Online MCQ 

In this round, 31 MCQ questions were asked from concepts like Aptitude, Logical, CS Fundamental, and C++ and Java code snippets. And the overall time limit is 1 hour.

And at last, where 200 candidates initially registered for Siemens Recruitment only 50 students got through the first round. So, you can estimate the level of toughness this round has.

Round 2 – Technical Interview 1

Once, I got shortlisted in the Online MCQ round, we have been asked to appear for Round 1 of the Technical Interview (There are 2 interviewers in the cabin). And here are some of the questions that the interviewer asked me.

1. Introduce yourself

2. Types of Data structures & implement a data structure of your choice

3. Asked about some real-life applications where data structures can be used especially in electronics as it’s my branch.

4. Then they asked me about logic gates & some other related questions to that

Puzzles Questions

5. There are 20 red socks, 10 blue ones, 5 orange and 2 green and had to pick a certain amount of colour. They asked for 2-3 different scenarios of picking different colors.

6. An employer pays his employee 1 unit per day with a gold rod and the rod can be cut only twice in 7 days. How does he pay every day?

7. A triangle on which there are 3 ants at each vertex can travel clockwise or anti-clockwise. Different scenarios of finding probabilities for this puzzle-like what’s the probability that the ants will never meet.

8. Some questions on bits and some on networking.

9. Some questions on bits and number systems their conversion.

The interview went on for 45 mins, even If I struct somewhere in my logic, the interviewers helped me. And at last, only 13-14 students have been shortlisted for the 2nd round of technical interviews.

Round 2 – Technical Interview 2

As soon as I entered the cabin, I’m relieved to find only one interviewer. He was friendly and initially asked random questions to know me better and slowly he started asking technical questions related to my core subject.

The following questions can help you know what sort of questions I’ve faced in my interview.

1. Introduce yourself

2. Some questions related to my project

3. Why software if you’re from EnTC?

4. Write an Algorithm for – You’re given 3 digits 4 at units place, 2 at tens and 1 at hundreds write an algorithm to form a number and print it.

5. Write an Algorithm for – In an excel sheet, the column index of a is 1 and that goes on till the column index of z is 26. Now, aa is 27 ab is 28, and so on. I had to find out the column index of abd and dba

6. Questions on C++ and OOPs

7. Write an Algorithm for – If there are n point having (Xn, Yn) coordinates and I had to write an algorithm to find out whether they’re collinear. He asked me to dry run all of them with some test cases.

After the completion of round 2 in the technical interview, only 6 students got through for the final round.

Note:

  • The interviewer may try to confuse you a lot but try to stick to your answers.
  • Maintain confidence even if you are nervous.
  • If you feel you are stuck somewhere convey the same to the interviewer. (Most of the time they help you out).

Round 4 – HR Interview

Here are some of the HR Questions that Siemens HR Manager has asked me.

1. Introduce yourself

2. Explain the recent project that you’ve done

3. 3 weaknesses

4. How do you motivate yourself during work?

5. Why did you choose Siemens?

6. Tell me about yourself which is not given in your resume.

For me, the HR round was completed in just 15 mins. All the candidates who got through the 2nd technical round were finally selected for the Graduate Engineer Trainee job position.

Candidate #2 – Siemens Interview Experience for SDE

Job Role – SDE (Software Development Engineer)

Status – Selected

Difficulty Level – Easy

Siemens came to our campus last August. First, they briefly gave an introduction about the company and conducted the Online MCQ round.

Round 1 –  Online MCQ 

No. of Questions – 30 MCQ

Duration – 1 Hour

Questions asked from Concepts like – Aptitude, Logical, CS Fundamental, and C++ and Java code snippets

Note: Only 45 candidates got through when 400 candidates were registered.

For shortlisted candidates, Technical & HR rounds were conducted 2 days after.

Round 2 – Technical Interview 1

Below are the questions that were asked in the 1st round of technical interviews.

1. Describe yourself in 3 words

2. 1st Puzzle – Given three boxes and you have to tell which box contains gold with 2 conditions

3. 2nd Puzzle – Given two cubes and you have to show all the dates in a month using those two cubes, a standard puzzle

4. Some coding questions (Dp problem like generating a palindromic string if it was not a palindrome)

5. Do you have any questions?

At last, my technical interview was concluded. Usually, there will be 2 technical rounds by I was directly shortlisted for the HR round. Further, in this round, only 18 students were shortlisted.

Round 3 – HR Round

This round went like any other HR round. The interviewer initially asked me about myself and then started asking some puzzle questions. To get a gist about how the HR interview went do check the below sections.

3. Interviewer gave me some five words and asked me to arrange them according to your priority

4. Some questions on my hobbies that I’ve mentioned in the Resume

5. Are you willing to relocate?

6. What do you perceive as your greatest weakness?

7. Finally, do you have any questions for me?

At last, the final results were announced, and 14 got placed and I was one of the lucky ones among others.
