SSC CGL Salary Structure
Consider a Grade Pay 4600 post in Delhi under Class X. Assuming the Basic Pay for the post to be Rs. 44,900, the House Rent Allowance provided would be 24% of Basic Pay, amounting to Rs. 10,776 (based on the assumed post and city). Additionally, a transport allowance of Rs. 3600 would be provided since the Grade Pay falls within the range of 2000 to 4800. Dearness Allowance is not applicable as it is merged with the basic pay and revised every six months.

SSC CGL Salary Allowances

House Rent Allowance:
- The rate of HRA is determined by the 7th Pay Commission, which varies according to the classification of cities.
- Group X cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Pune, are entitled to 24% of HRA, excluding basic pay.
- Group Y, comprising 100 towns with a population of 5 lakhs, are eligible for 16% of HRA.
- Group Z, which includes rural areas, are provided with 8% of HRA.
Travelling Allowance:
- Candidates selected for group X cities are given Rs. 3600 as transport allowance.
- Candidates for group Y and Z cities are provided with Rs. 1800 as travelling allowance.
Medical Allowance:
- The government reimburses all medical expenses incurred by the employee or their family upon claim.
Special Security Allowance:
- Candidates working for special organizations, such as CBI, IB, or security agencies, receive an extra 20% of Basic Pay as Special Security Allowance (SSA) in their gross pay.
Pension:
