This Telangana University was State university situated at Dichpally in Nizamabad, Telangana, India, established in 2006 by the govt. of United Andhra Pradesh. The campus encompasses 600 acres (2.4 sq.km) of land. The Telangana University is of seven buildings they’re administrative building, University College, University faculty of Law, University faculty of Commerce and Management, two hostels one for women and alternative for boys. The Institute was established through Act Number 28 of the State Government in the year 2006. The University was established with an objective to make the upper education accessible to the educationally backward District of Nizamabad in Telangana.

The State Government handed over around 577 acres of land in Suddapally and Nadipally villages of Dichpally Mandal to the university. The 8-member NAAC team has visited the University on December within the year 2015 and was awarded the “B” grade. The University was shifted to another place on January 30th, 2009 to the sprawling 577-acre campus at Dichpally contiguous the National main road forty-four on the Hyderabad – Nagpur main road. Many Research scholars have also got the Rajiv Gandhi National Fellow Ships offered by the UGC. The TU has the biggest range of courses (26) among the all-new universities and ranks third when Osmania University and Kakatiya University.
The TU is also the first among the newly formed Universities in the state to launch a Ph.D. program in a total of 13 disciplines. The University has a good strength of 81 faculty members. The TU has 3 different and spacious campuses i.e., Main Campus at Dichpally, South Campus at Bhiknoor and the Third Campus is at Sarangapur. This University was the third largest University next to Osmania University (Hyderabad) and Kakatiya University (Warangal) in Telangana State. It is a winner among all different new-formed universities like Satavahana University (Karimnagar), Mahatma Gandhi University (Nalgonda) and Palamuru University (Mahaboobnagar).
Telangana University Admission Process
Telangana University has a clear and reservation rule-based admission procedure. All the admissions are done as per the performance of the candidates within the TUCET/OU Common Entrance Test. Telangana University strictly follows the rule of reservation as per the govt. norms and ensures strict adherence to the reservations into numerous categories.
The University provides admissions into numerous courses of study shall be created based on TUCET/OU Common Entrance test rank and eligibility criteria subject to the rule of reservation. In each course of study, eighty-fifth of the offered seats are reserved in favor of the native candidates from the districts of Nizamabad and Adilabad. The reservation but doesn’t apply to any course of study within which the whole number of available seats doesn’t exceed 3. Most of the seats reserved in favor of local candidates.

Telangana University Facilities
Boys Hostel
The University Boys Hostel is located around half-a-kilometer from the University College Dichpally campus. The Boys Hostel building consists of the ground floor and one First Floor. The Ground Floor is having a total of 54 Rooms in four wings, whereas the First Floor has 57 Rooms in four wings. The University Boys Hostel consists of modern Water purifier and Water Coolers are installed on each floor of the hostel. The university hostel provides a qualified medical doctor visits the hostel every day and offers services to the students between 4 and 6 pm. There are separate Reading Room cum Library, Doctor Room, Sick Room, TV Hall and Dining Hall in the hostel complex.
Girls Hostel
The Telangana University Girls Hostel is situated very near to the University College complex in the Dichpally campus. The University girls hostel consists of ground Floor is having a total of 42 rooms in three wings, while the First floor has 44 Rooms in three wings. The girl’s hostel also has a modern Water purifier and Water Cooler is installed in the hostel and a qualified medical doctor visits the hostel every day in the evening and offers services to the students. There are separate Doctor Room, Sickroom, Reading Room cum Library, TV Hall, Visitor Hall and Dining Hall in the hostel complex.
Library
The Telangana University has a beautiful Central Library building named as the “Vignana Soudha”. The library provides both computers and digital library facilities. The university library is installed with a huge collection of books related to varied subjects and all the courses that are being offered by the university. The library is opened till late in the night thus facilitating the students for their preparation for the competitive examinations.
