Further, the UPPSC PCS Prelims Exam will be having 2 compulsory papers and will be conducted for 400 marks (200 for each paper) with a time duration of 2 hrs for each paper. and UPPSC PCS Mains Exam will be having questions from General Hindi, Essay, and General Studies (6 Papers). UPPCS Prelims Exam Pattern

Both the papers shall be objective multiple choice questions in which there shall be 150 questions in Paper 1 and 100 questions in paper 2 respectively.

Marking Scheme

Negative Marking – one-third (0.33) of the marks will be deducted in case of wrong answer.

Note:

• Paper-II of the Preliminary Examination will be a qualifying paper with minimum qualifying marks fixed at 33%.
• It is mandatory for the Candidates to appear in both the papers of Preliminary Examination for the purpose of evaluation. Therefore a candidate will be disqualified in case he does not appear in both in papers.
• The merit of the Candidates will be determined on the basis of marks obtained in Paper-I of the Preliminary Examination.

UPPCS Mains Exam Pattern

The Written examination will consist of the following compulsory and optional subjects. The candidates have to select any one subject from the list of optional subjects for the main examination which will consist of two papers.

Note:  All Papers Shall be Conventional type and for solving the questions three hours time is allowed. Two hundred maximum marks has been allotted for each General Studies question paper.
