Purvanchal University, Jaunpur was renamed as Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University by the honor of late Shri Veer Bahadur Singh, who was the former Chief Minister of the state, This university was established on 2nd October 1987 as an affiliating university under U.P. state university act 1973. This is the state university situated in Uttar Pradesh It was started with the 68 affiliated colleges, the university has now widened its the spectrum of activities with 367 affiliated graduate and post-graduate colleges in Uttar Pradesh. The university was located within the area of 171.5 acres. University motto is “May our knowledge become brilliant”.
