Vikrama Simhapuri University (VSU) is a public state university within the Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh, India. It was established in 2008 with six courses. Now, the university is providing seventeen post-graduate courses in university faculty. VSU does not have its own buildings. It is started with an administrative building at Dargamitta, Nellore. Regular classes are at V.R. highschool campus (Old Law college Campus), Nellore. Campus construction is in process at Kakutur, Nellore in eighty-seven acres (350,000 square meters) provided by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. Vikrama Simhapura university strives for “Satyam Gnanamanantham.”

The courses are designed keeping in sight the demand for the subject, scope for the intellectual development of the student within the disciplinary boundaries, the relevance of the course broadly for the region and also the nation, employability of the scholar, and his ability to contribute, through the talents and practical training acquired at the University, to regional and national development and to national wealth. Nellore is a city of quick metamorphosing itself into an industrial town with a concentration of major industries around a 20 km zone of the area where the University goes to be situated and that the district administration is gearing itself. Therefore the perspective is artistic movement.

Thus the main target is on holistic training. Vikrama Simhapuri University was, to begin with, a unitary University. Giving the University a full-fledged status, the govt. of Andhra Pradesh, has approved the University to exercise its powers of affiliation under the A.P Universities Act, 1991, to bring UG/ PG/ Professional/ Oriental, etc., colleges in Sri Potti Sreeramulu Nellore district below its jurisdiction from the academic year 2010 – 11.

VSU Admission Process

1) Vikrama Simhapuri University offers the PG, Integrated M.Sc and Ph.D. in different specializations.
2) This university conducts VSUPGCET to allot the seats to the candidates in PG programs.
