All concerned are hereby notified that the West Bengal Board of Primary Education has decided to hold Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) 2023 on 24th December 2023 throughout the State in the exercise of its statutory power as per the NOTE guidelines and in accordance with the law. West Bengal Board of Primary Education hereby notifies to conduct TET Examination for the purpose of recruitment of Assistant Teachers in Govt. Aided/ Govt. Sponsored/ Junior Basic Primary Schools for classes I-V on a single day throughout West Bengal as per the NCTE guidelines and in accordance with the law.

West Bengal TET Eligibility
Only those persons who have acquired the academic and professional qualifications specified in the NCTE-Notification are eligible to appear for the WB TET Exam.
- Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known)
- Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.)
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and having a Diploma in Education (Special Education), a course recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India (R.C.I.), shall also be considered.
(i) Persons who have appeared for the final examination of Two Year DEVE. Course from NCTE recognized institutions on the date of this Notification and the result is not yet published.
- Persons who have appeared for the final examination of Two Year D.Ed. (Special Education) Course from RCI-recognized institutions on the date of this Notification and the result is not yet published.
- Persons who have appeared for the final examination of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Course from NCTE-recognized institutions on the date of this Notification and the result is not yet published shall also be eligible to sit for the TET-2023.
- Persons who are undergoing D.El.Ed./ D.Ed. (Special Education)/ B.Ed. Training (session 2020-2023) and who has qualified in D.El.Ed./ D.Ed. (Special Education)/ B.Ed. Part-1 examination (session 2020-2023) will be given the opportunity to apply for TET-2023.
